Jaguarundi
The jaguarundi is a small, wild feline native to Central and South America. It has a sleek, elongated body and short legs, resembling a large otter or weasel, with smooth, uniform-colored fur that ranges from gray to reddish-brown. Unlike many cats, it is diurnal (active during the day) and prefers dense forests, grasslands, and shrublands. The jaguarundi is solitary and excellent at climbing and running. It mainly hunts small animals like birds, rodents, and insects. Although not widely known, it plays a crucial role in its ecosystem and is currently considered Near Threatened due to habitat loss.
