Jacobite War

The Jacobite Wars (1689–1746) were a series of armed conflicts in Britain, primarily in Scotland, between supporters of James II and his descendants (the Jacobites) and those loyal to the ruling monarchs of the House of Hanover. The Jacobites aimed to restore James II and his heirs to the throne, believing in the divine right of kings and opposing constitutional changes. Notable battles included the Battle of Culloden in 1746, which marked the end of significant Jacobite efforts. These conflicts were fueled by religious tensions, political power struggles, and loyalty to the Stuart dynasty.
