Jacob's Syndrome

Jacob’s Syndrome occurs when a male has an extra Y chromosome, resulting in a genetic pattern called 47,XYY. Normally, males have one X and one Y chromosome, but in this case, an additional Y chromosome is present. This genetic variation can be associated with taller stature, learning difficulties, or sometimes behavioral characteristics, but many individuals lead typical lives without significant issues. Jacob’s Syndrome is usually not inherited; it occurs randomly during cell division. Diagnosis is typically through chromosomal testing, and appropriate support can help manage any related challenges.
