Jacinta Marto was a Portuguese girl born in 1910, renowned for her role in the Marian apparitions at Fátima in 1917, where she and her sister Lucia claimed to see the Virgin Mary. Known for her deep faith and innocence, Jacinta became a symbol of devotion and humility. She became ill with the Spanish flu in 1918 and died at age 9.
