Jñāna
Jñāna is a Sanskrit term that means "knowledge" or "wisdom," particularly spiritual or true understanding. In many spiritual traditions, especially in Indian philosophy, it refers to deep insight into the nature of reality, self, and the universe. Jñāna involves recognizing the difference between illusion and truth, leading to liberation or enlightenment. It emphasizes inner realization and understanding beyond intellectual knowing, aiming for a direct, experiential awareness of one’s true nature, often described as understanding the unity of the self (Atman) with the ultimate reality (Brahman).
