Izanagi (Deity)
Izanagi is a prominent deity in Japanese mythology, regarded as the primordial creator of Japan and its gods. According to ancient myths, he, along with his wife Izanami, fashioned the islands of Japan and gave birth to numerous kami (divine beings). After his wife’s death, Izanagi performed purification rituals that led to the creation of many other deities. Symbolizing fertility, creation, and purification, Izanagi's stories emphasize themes of life, death, and rebirth, making him a central figure in Shinto cosmology and Japanese cultural heritage.
