Ivanpah Solar Power Facility

The Ivanpah Solar Power Facility, located in California's Mojave Desert, is one of the world's largest solar thermal power plants. It uses hundreds of mirrors called heliostats to reflect sunlight onto centralized boilers atop towers, creating intense heat that generates steam. This steam drives turbines to produce electricity, providing power to approximately 140,000 homes.
