Ivan Pavlov (pathologist)
Ivan Pavlov was a Russian scientist and physiologist known for his research on the digestive system and classical conditioning. He discovered that dogs could learn to associate a neutral stimulus, like the sound of a bell, with food, causing them to salivate in response to the bell alone. This work revealed how learned associations form through repeated pairing, providing foundational insights into behavioral psychology. Pavlov's studies have influenced understanding of how behaviors can be shaped by experience, and his methods are still used in behavior therapy and learning research today.
