IVAM

IVAM, or Intraoperative Virtual Acoustics Model, is a technology used during brain surgeries to help surgeons avoid damaging critical hearing areas. It creates a real-time, 3D map of how sound travels through the brain tissue, allowing surgeons to see where important auditory pathways are located while they operate. This enhanced guidance helps protect hearing functions, making surgeries safer and more precise. Essentially, IVAM provides a virtual “sound landscape” of the brain during surgery, improving outcomes and reducing risks related to auditory damage.
