Italian Revolution

The Italian Revolution, mainly referring to the Risorgimento in the 19th century, was a period of national unification when various independent states and kingdoms within the Italian Peninsula came together to form a unified Italy. Influenced by the ideas of nationalism, independence, and liberal reform, leaders such as Garibaldi and Cavour sought to end foreign control and regional divisions. Through political negotiations, military campaigns, and popular support, Italy gradually consolidated into a single nation by 1861, evolving from a fragmented collection of states into a united, sovereign country.
