Issedones

The Issedones were an ancient nomadic people who lived around the 5th and 6th centuries BCE in Central Asia, near the Caspian Sea and the Altai Mountains. They are known mainly through Greek historical accounts, particularly by Herodotus. The Issedones were part of a larger group of nomads who traveled across vast steppes, often engaging in trade and warfare. Their culture was closely linked to other Central Asian tribes, and they played a role in the complex network of nomadic societies that inhabited Eurasia. Over time, the Issedones either assimilated into other cultures or migrated, gradually disappearing from historical records.
