ISIS-K (Islamic State of Iraq and Syria – Khorasan Province) is a militant extremist group that seeks to establish a strict, often violent interpretation of Islamic rule. Originating as an affiliate of ISIS, it operates mainly in Afghanistan and parts of Pakistan, using terror tactics like bombings and assassinations to promote its ideology. The group aims to create a caliphate, or Islamic state, across the region and opposes governments and Western influence. It is considered a terrorist organization by many countries due to its violent activities and threat to regional and global security.
