iSER
iSER, or iSCSI Extensions for RDMA, is a technology that improves data transfer between computers over a network. It combines iSCSI, which allows storage devices to communicate over standard Ethernet networks, with RDMA (Remote Direct Memory Access), a feature that enables computers to transfer data directly to each other's memory without involving the CPU. This results in faster, more efficient data transfers, reduced latency, and lower CPU usage. iSER is particularly useful in data centers and enterprise environments where high-speed, reliable storage access is essential.
