Isaac Hooke

Isaac Hooke was a 17th-century English scientist and polymath known for his contributions to physics, biology, and astronomy. He is best remembered for Hooke's Law, which describes how elastic materials stretch in proportion to the applied force. Hooke also made significant advancements in microscopy, improving lenses and observing cells, contributing to what would become cell biology. Additionally, he helped develop the concept of gravitation and proposed ideas that later influenced Isaac Newton. Hooke’s work laid foundational principles in various scientific fields, making him a key figure in the Scientific Revolution.
