Isaac Haydn
Isaac Haydn was an Austrian composer and cellist, born in 1732, and the elder brother of the more famous Joseph Haydn. He composed music in the Classical style and served as a court musician in Vienna. While less known today, Isaac was respected in his time for his concert performances and compositions, which contributed to the musical culture of the period. His work helped shape the musical landscape of 18th-century Austria, though his legacy is overshadowed by his brother’s prolific output and lasting influence in classical music.
