IS-95
IS-95, also known as cdmaOne, is an early digital cellular technology used for mobile phone communication. It allows multiple users to share the same radio frequency spectrum efficiently through a method called Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA). This technology improves call quality, increases capacity, and reduces interference compared to earlier analog systems. Launched in the 1990s, IS-95 enabled clearer calls and more reliable service, forming a foundation for later cellular standards. It was widely adopted globally, especially in North America, and played a key role in advancing digital mobile communication.
