Irish rebellion

The Irish rebellion refers to various uprisings by Irish nationalists seeking independence from British rule. Most notably, the 1916 Easter Rising aimed to establish an independent Irish Republic through armed conflict. These rebellions were driven by a desire for self-determination, cultural identity, and resistance to British control. Although many uprisings were suppressed, they galvanized Irish public support, eventually leading to the Irish War of Independence (1919-1921) and the establishment of the Irish Free State in 1922. The rebellions are key moments in Ireland’s struggle for sovereignty and national identity.
