Iris Melanoma
Iris melanoma is a rare type of cancer that occurs in the iris, the colored part of the eye. It arises from pigment-producing cells called melanocytes. Although it's uncommon, it can cause symptoms such as changes in eye color, blurry vision, or an unusual growth on the iris. Diagnosis usually involves an eye examination and imaging tests. Treatment options may include surgery to remove the tumor, radiation therapy, or in some cases, enucleation (removal of the eye). Early detection is crucial for a better outcome, so regular eye exams are important, especially if any symptoms arise.
