Iraqi Freedom
Operation Iraqi Freedom was a military campaign launched by the United States and coalition forces in March 2003, aimed at overthrowing Saddam Hussein’s regime in Iraq. The U.S. government cited concerns about weapons of mass destruction and links to terrorism as justification for the invasion. The operation led to the rapid fall of Hussein's government, but it also sparked a long and complex conflict involving insurgency, sectarian violence, and challenges in establishing a stable government. The war had significant impacts on Iraq and the broader region, as well as on U.S. foreign policy in subsequent years.
