Iranian Balochistan

Iranian Balochistan is a region in southeastern Iran, primarily inhabited by the Baloch ethnic group. It covers about a third of Iran's province of Sistan and Baluchestan and shares borders with Pakistan and Afghanistan. Known for its mountainous terrain and arid climate, it has a rich cultural heritage but faces economic challenges, including poverty and underdevelopment. The region has experienced social and political tensions due to disparities and demands for greater autonomy by Baloch communities. Iranian Balochistan plays a strategic role due to its location and resources but remains one of Iran's less developed and most marginalized areas.
