Investment casting (also known as lost-wax casting)

Investment casting, also called lost-wax casting, is a precise manufacturing process used to create detailed metal parts. It involves shaping a wax model of the desired object, which is then coated in a ceramic material to form a mold. Once the ceramic hardens, the wax is melted out, leaving a hollow cavity. Molten metal is then poured into this cavity to form the final piece. After cooling, the ceramic mold is broken away, revealing the finished metal part. This method allows for complex shapes and fine details with minimal material waste.
