Inverse Function

An inverse function is like a "reverse" of a given function. If a function transforms an input into an output, the inverse takes that output and brings it back to the original input. For example, if the original function adds 3 to a number, the inverse subtracts 3. In mathematical terms, the inverse reverses the effect of the original function, so applying the function and then its inverse gets you back to where you started. Not all functions have inverses, only those that are one-to-one (each input corresponds to a unique output).
