IntServ (Integrated Services)
Integrated Services (IntServ) is a network architecture that ensures the reliable transmission of data for applications requiring consistent performance, like video conferencing or online gaming. It does this by reserving specific bandwidth for each application, guaranteeing a certain quality of service (QoS). By managing network traffic dynamically, IntServ allows for the prioritization of critical data, reducing delays and packet loss. This approach enhances the user experience but can be complex and resource-intensive, making it less common in large-scale deployments compared to simpler methods like Differentiated Services (DiffServ).
