Intracytoplasmic sperm injection protocol
Intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) is a fertility treatment where a single sperm is directly injected into an egg under a microscope. The process begins with ovarian stimulation to produce multiple eggs, which are then retrieved. In the lab, a skilled specialist selects a healthy sperm and uses a precise needle to inject it into the egg. If the egg fertilizes successfully, the resulting embryo is transferred to the uterus to achieve pregnancy. ICSI is often used when there are issues with sperm quality or previous fertilization failure.
