Intracranial aneurysm

An intracranial aneurysm is a weak, balloon-like bulge that forms in a blood vessel within the brain. It develops due to weakening of the vessel wall, which can be caused by factors like high blood pressure, genetics, or injury. If it enlarges or ruptures, it can lead to bleeding in the brain, causing serious problems such as stroke, neurological deficits, or death. Some aneurysms don’t cause symptoms until they reach a critical size or rupture. Detection often involves imaging scans. Treatment options include monitoring small aneurysms or surgical procedures to prevent rupture and protect brain health.
