Intracoronary Imaging

Intracoronary imaging is a medical technique used to visualize the inside of coronary arteries, which supply blood to the heart. It involves inserting a specialized imaging device into the arteries through a small tube called a catheter. This allows doctors to see details about the artery walls, blood flow, and any blockages or plaques that may be present. The detailed images help guide treatment decisions, such as stent placement or other interventions, improving outcomes for patients with heart disease. Common methods include intravascular ultrasound (IVUS) and optical coherence tomography (OCT).
