Intestinal Polyps

Intestinal polyps are small clumps of cells that develop on the lining of the intestines, particularly in the colon. They can vary in size and number, and while most polyps are benign (non-cancerous), some can develop into colorectal cancer over time. Symptoms may include rectal bleeding or changes in bowel habits, but often they have no noticeable symptoms. Regular screening through colonoscopies is recommended, especially for individuals over 45 or those with a family history of colon cancer, to detect and remove polyps early, reducing cancer risk.
