Intertrigo

Intertrigo is a skin condition that occurs when skin surfaces rub against each other, often in warm, moist areas like the folds of the skin. It can cause redness, irritation, and discomfort due to friction and trapped moisture. Common areas affected include armpits, groin, and under breasts. Factors like heat, humidity, and poor hygiene can worsen the condition. While intertrigo itself is not an infection, it can lead to secondary infections if not treated. Keeping the affected area clean, dry, and using barrier creams can help manage and prevent symptoms.
