Intertitle

An intertitle is a piece of text displayed on screen between scenes or shots in a film, especially in silent movies, to convey dialogue, narrative information, or context to viewers. They serve as visual aids to help audiences understand what characters are saying or to provide background details, since there is no spoken sound. Intertitles are usually designed with stylized fonts and backgrounds to match the film’s tone. Though primarily associated with silent films, they can also be used in modern filmmaking for stylistic or narrative purposes.
