Intersex persons

Intersex persons are individuals born with physical sex characteristics—such as chromosomes, gonads, or genitalia—that do not fit typical definitions of male or female. This variation can occur naturally and is a part of human biological diversity. Intersex traits may be visible at birth, become apparent during puberty, or remain hidden. Recognizing intersex as a natural variation helps promote understanding, respect, and equality, emphasizing that biological sex exists on a spectrum rather than a strict binary. Intersex people may identify in various ways and deserve the same rights and dignity as all individuals.
