InterPlanetary File System (IPFS)

The InterPlanetary File System (IPFS) is a decentralized technology for storing and sharing files across a global network. Instead of relying on a central server, IPFS distributes data across numerous computers, making file access faster, more resilient, and resistant to censorship. When you upload a file, IPFS breaks it into small pieces, assigns each a unique cryptographic hash, and stores these across the network. To retrieve a file, the system locates all pieces through their hashes, piecing them together seamlessly. This approach enhances data persistence, security, and efficiency, leveraging blockchain-like principles without the need for a single point of control.
