Internet Protocol Security
Internet Protocol Security (IPsec) is a set of tools and protocols designed to protect data exchanged over the internet. It creates a secure "shield" around information as it travels between devices, ensuring it cannot be read or tampered with by unauthorized parties. IPsec can authenticate the identities of devices communicating and encrypt the data to keep it private. It’s often used in virtual private networks (VPNs) to securely connect remote sites or users to a network. In essence, IPsec ensures that internet communications are private, authentic, and safe from interception or alterations.
