Internet Key Exchange (IKE)
Internet Key Exchange (IKE) is a protocol that helps secure digital communications by establishing a secure and encrypted connection between devices, such as computers or servers. It works by negotiating and exchanging cryptographic keys—special codes used to encode data—so both parties can communicate privately and authenticate each other's identities. IKE is commonly used in Virtual Private Networks (VPNs) to ensure data transmitted over public networks remains confidential and protected from eavesdropping or tampering. Essentially, it creates a safe digital "tunnel" for sensitive information to travel securely across the internet.
