International Workingmen's Association (First Internationale)

The International Workingmen's Association, also known as the First Internationale, was a global organization founded in 1864 to unite workers across different countries in the fight for better working conditions, fair wages, and social justice. It aimed to promote solidarity among laborers and support movements towards social reform, including socialism and anarchism. By bringing together various workers' groups and activists, it sought to strengthen their collective voice and influence political change. Although it faced internal disagreements and declined by the late 1870s, the First Internationale laid important groundwork for later international labor movements.
