International Workers' Sports Federation (FISTF)
The International Workers' Sports Federation (FISTF) was an organization founded in 1947 to promote sports among workers' and labor organizations worldwide. Its goal was to foster camaraderie, health, and solidarity among working-class people through athletic activities, often in contrast to professional or elite sports. FISTF organized sports events and competitions that emphasized participation and community, aligning with social and political ideals of workers' movements. It played a significant role during the Cold War era but eventually merged with other sports organizations or declined in prominence as global sports structures evolved.
