International Workers' Association (First International)

The International Workers' Association (First International), established in 1864, was an early global organization uniting various workers' groups and trade unions advocating for better labor rights, social reforms, and workers’ solidarity. It aimed to coordinate efforts across countries to improve working conditions, promote socialism, and support workers’ political and economic interests. Although it was short-lived, disbanding in 1876, it laid the groundwork for future international labor movements and influenced the development of organized workers' advocacy worldwide.
