International Peatland Society
The International Peatland Society (IPS) is a global organization dedicated to the sustainable management and conservation of peatlands—wetland areas with accumulated dead plant material called peat. Peatlands play a crucial role in storing carbon, supporting biodiversity, and regulating water quality. IPS brings together scientists, policymakers, land managers, and companies to share knowledge, promote best practices, and develop solutions that balance environmental health with responsible use of peatlands. Its goal is to ensure that these vital ecosystems are preserved and managed sustainably for future generations.
