International Dance Sport Federation (IDSF)

The International Dance Sport Federation (IDSF) was the global governing body for competitive ballroom dancing, overseeing regulations, standards, and competitions worldwide. It promoted the sport’s development, ensuring fair judging and consistent rules across countries. In 2017, the IDSF merged with the World DanceSport Federation (WDSF), continuing its mission to advance dance sport as a recognized competitive discipline. Essentially, the IDSF served as the international authority that supported dancers, organized events, and helped grow the sport's global presence through standardized governance and promotion.
