International Council of Scientific Unions

The International Council of Scientific Unions (ICSU) was a global organization that brought together scientists from various disciplines and countries to promote international collaboration, coordinate research efforts, and address worldwide scientific issues. It aimed to foster scientific progress, inform policy, and support sustainable development by facilitating communication and cooperation across different fields of science. In 2018, ICSU merged into the International Science Council (ISC), continuing its mission under a new name. Its efforts help ensure that scientific knowledge benefits society globally by addressing complex challenges like climate change, health, and environmental sustainability.
