International Coalition for the Responsibility to Protect
The International Coalition for the Responsibility to Protect (ICR2P) is a global alliance of governments, organizations, and experts committed to preventing and responding to mass atrocities like genocide, war crimes, ethnic cleansing, and crimes against humanity. It promotes the idea that when a country’s government fails to protect its people or commits such crimes, the international community has a responsibility to intervene—diplomatically, humanitarianly, or militarily—acting as a safeguard for human rights. Essentially, ICR2P works to ensure that mass atrocities are prevented or stopped through coordinated international efforts.
