International Campaign to Ban Landmines (ICBL)

The International Campaign to Ban Landmines (ICBL) is a global coalition of organizations and individuals dedicated to ending the use of anti-personnel landmines. Landmines are explosive devices buried underground, often causing injury or death long after conflicts end. ICBL works to promote international treaties, raise awareness, and support victims, aiming to eliminate landmines worldwide. Their efforts have contributed to the adoption of the Ottawa Treaty in 1997, which bans the use, production, and stockpiling of landmines, and promotes mine clearance and victim assistance.
