International Association of Ultrarunners

The International Association of Ultrarunners (IAU) is a global organization dedicated to promoting and governing ultramarathon running—races longer than traditional marathons. It sets competitive standards, organizes international events, and supports the ultrarunning community worldwide. The IAUS also fosters the development of ultrarunning as a sport through rules, rankings, and cooperation among national and regional ultrarunning groups. Its goal is to ensure the integrity, safety, and growth of ultramarathon competitions, while encouraging athletes to push the limits of endurance in a structured and recognized environment.
