Interline Transfer CCD
An Interline Transfer CCD is a type of image sensor used in cameras to capture light and turn it into electronic signals. It features small storage areas within each pixel that temporarily hold the captured light data. During image readout, the sensor quickly transfers the data from these storage areas to a readout register, allowing the main imaging area to start capturing the next image immediately. This design enables faster image processing and reduces noise, making Interline Transfer CCDs ideal for high-speed photography and applications requiring quick, high-quality image capture.
