Interleaved Practice

Interleaved practice is a learning strategy where different topics or skills are practiced in a mixed sequence rather than in isolated blocks. Instead of focusing on one subject at a time, learners alternate between multiple subjects during study sessions. This approach helps improve problem-solving and long-term retention because it encourages the brain to make connections between concepts and adapt to different contexts. For example, practicing math, then science, then history in the same session, rather than doing all math first, then all science, enhances the ability to recognize when and how to apply different knowledge.
