Interlaced vs Progressive scan

Interlaced and progressive scan are two methods for displaying images on screens. Progressive scan draws each frame's lines sequentially from top to bottom, resulting in a smooth and sharp picture, especially for fast-moving content. Interlaced scan, common in older TVs, draws only half the lines (odd then even), refreshing the image in two passes, which can lead to flickering or less clarity during motion. Progressive is generally preferred for digital displays like computers and modern TVs because it offers better quality, while interlaced was mainly used in traditional broadcast TV systems.
