Interfacial Science
Interfacial science is the study of the behavior and properties of the boundary between two different phases, such as liquids, solids, or gases. This region, called the interface, influences how materials interact, combine, or separate, playing a key role in processes like emulsion formation, coatings, and sensors. Understanding interfacial phenomena helps us develop better products and technologies—like improved detergents, medicines, and materials—by controlling surface interactions at the microscopic level. It combines principles from chemistry, physics, and materials science to analyze and manipulate interfaces for various industrial and environmental applications.
