Inter-American Human Rights Commission

The Inter-American Human Rights Commission, formally known as the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights (IACHR), is an autonomous body of the Organization of American States (OAS). It promotes and protects human rights in the Americas by monitoring member states' adherence to human rights standards, receiving and investigating reports of abuses, and recommending actions for improvement. The IACHR also provides a platform for individuals to seek justice when they believe their rights have been violated. Its goal is to strengthen democracy, rule of law, and respect for human dignity across the region.
