Intention-Behavior Relationship
The intention-behavior relationship describes how a person’s plans or expectations (intentions) influence their actual actions (behavior). Generally, having a strong intention to do something increases the likelihood of performing that action. However, intentions don’t always lead to behavior because other factors like habits, environment, or obstacles can interfere. Understanding this relationship helps explain why some people act on their goals while others don’t, highlighting the importance of addressing both motivation and external influences to promote consistent, desired behaviors.
