inhaler techniques
Using an inhaler correctly ensures medication reaches your lungs effectively. First, shake the inhaler well. Remove the cap and breathe out fully. Place the mouthpiece in your mouth firmly. As you start to breathe in slowly through your mouth, press down on the inhaler to release the medication. Continue to breathe in steadily and deeply. Hold your breath for about 10 seconds to let the medicine settle in your lungs, then breathe out slowly. If you need a second dose, wait about a minute and repeat. Rinse your mouth afterward if using a steroid inhaler to prevent irritation.
