Ingsoc

Ingsoc, short for "English Socialism," is the oppressive ideology in George Orwell's novel *1984*. It represents the totalitarian regime controlling the fictional nation of Oceania. The party enforces strict conformity, suppresses individual thought, and manipulates truth through propaganda, surveillance, and language control (like Newspeak). The goal is to maintain absolute power by eliminating personal autonomy and dissent. Ingsoc is an example of how authoritarian governments can exploit ideology and psychological manipulation to dominate society completely.
